SEO freelancer since 2011

SEO freelancer for Google and AI visibility

Are you looking for an SEO freelancer who not only gets your company to page 1 on Google, but also into the answers of ChatGPT, Perplexity and the Google AI Overviews? That is exactly my specialty. I am Daniel Arens, I have been working as an SEO freelancer since 2011 and I combine classic search engine optimisation with Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) – nationwide and fully remote. You get strategy, implementation and reporting from one hand, directly from the specialist, without the detour through an agency.

My goal is not ranking for the sake of ranking, but relevant visibility that measurably brings more enquiries and more revenue.

What does an SEO freelancer do?

An SEO freelancer is a self-employed search engine expert who helps companies get found more easily in search results – from technical analysis through content and keyword strategy to link building. Unlike in an agency, you work directly with the person who actually carries out your optimisation.

As a freelancer for SEO I look after projects end to end: I analyse where your website stands in Google's algorithm, derive a tailored SEO strategy from it and implement the measures – or support your team hands-on. You have one fixed point of contact, short paths and a person who takes responsibility for results instead of passing your project on to rotating juniors. This direct, eye-level support is the core of my service.

Freelancer or agency – what is the difference?

Both routes have their place. The decisive difference lies in who ultimately works on your project and how much of your budget goes into the actual optimisation.

For small and medium-sized companies that want senior expertise at fair conditions and a real connection to the specialist, an SEO freelancer is usually the more efficient choice. If you need a very large, broadly distributed team, an agency may make more sense – and I will tell you that honestly. By the way, on request I also work as an external SEO freelancer for agencies that buy in additional know-how.

My services as an SEO freelancer

SEO is not a single lever but the interplay of several disciplines. I cover all of them – from the technical foundation to visibility in AI search.

Technical SEO

Crawling, indexing, page speed, Core Web Vitals and structured data: I make sure search engines can read and understand your website without friction – the foundation every other measure builds on.

On-page & content

I optimise your pages along real search intent: keyword research, page structure, copy and internal linking that convince users and search engines alike. As an on-page freelancer I make sure every important page has a clear goal and relevant keywords – and that your content works for people just as well as for Google and co.

Off-page & link building

Sustainable authority comes from relevant, earned backlinks. I develop an off-page strategy that fits your industry and brings more traffic long term – without risky shortcuts that become a problem later.

AEO & GEO – visibility in AI search

This is my specialty and my difference from many other SEO freelancers: I optimise your content so that it appears not only in classic search results but also as an answer in ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews – Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO).

Which websites, CMS and shop systems?

I work technically and editorially with all common systems. Whether a classic company website or an online shop – the SEO fundamentals apply everywhere, and I adapt the implementation to your system:

  • CMS: WordPress SEO (my focus), TYPO3 and others.
  • Shop systems: Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento and more.

This way I make sure your optimisation fits your CMS or shop system and no technical quirks are overlooked.

Who I work for – nationwide & remote

I work as an SEO freelancer throughout Germany and the entire DACH region, location-independently and remotely. Whether you are based in Berlin, Munich, Hamburg or a smaller town makes no difference for our collaboration – SEO works digitally, and coordination via video call, email and shared documents runs just as smoothly as on site.

Typically I work with small and medium-sized companies, self-employed professionals and online shops. If your company lacks the capacity to maintain the website continuously, or you are looking for a reliable freelance SEO partner for long-term support, you are in the right place.

How we work together

  1. 1

Getting to know each other & goals. In a free, no-obligation initial call we clarify your starting position, your needs and goals – and whether we are a good fit.

  2. 2

Analysis & strategy. I review your website, competitors and potential and derive a prioritised, tailored roadmap – you know exactly what happens when and why.

  3. 3

Implementation. I implement the on- and off-page measures myself or support your team – transparently and traceably.

  4. 4

Reporting & further development. You receive understandable reports on rankings, visibility across the web and AI presence. We keep adjusting, because SEO is a long-term process.

What does an SEO freelancer cost?

With me there is no off-the-shelf price. What your optimisation costs depends on the current state of your website: if it is already in good technical and editorial shape, I need less time than for a site that starts practically from zero. That is why I calculate individually – usually based on an hourly rate below €89 or as a fixed price for clearly defined projects.

The advantage of a freelancer over an agency: you do not pay for structural overhead but for working time that goes directly into your visibility and therefore into more revenue. In the no-obligation initial call I look at your starting position and give you a fair, transparent range. For a first orientation on packages, take a look at my SEO shop.

About me – Daniel Arens

I have been in SEO since 2011. In that time I have looked after numerous projects and work daily with tools such as Semrush, Ahrefs, Google Search Console and NeuronWriter.

What drives me: search engines are changing more profoundly than they have in years – AI answers are shifting how people find information. This intersection of classic SEO and new AI visibility is exactly where I like to work most. I bring that expertise into every project. You can find my reviews on ProvenExpert.
